Calm Under Pressure Workshop
Over the last 18 months I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working along side Dave Wood on his Calm Under Pressure Workshops. Dave is best known for being Israel Adesanya’s breathing and mindset coach. It’s a relationship that developed organically as word spread around Auckland’s City Kickboxing gym that his teammates were seeing great improvements from Dave’s unique approach to training.
Calm Under Pressure
Our world-leading Calm Under Pressure workshop is the same mind and body training that we use to prepare our elite-level athletes. It will help optimise health and performance at work, the sports field, or personal life. We teach people how to use stress to their advantage and control key body systems in dynamic settings, improving focus, creativity, strength, and endurance.
The workshop is physically and mentally challenging and teaches people how to control physiological and psychological responses to stressful situations. It will push boundaries while facilitating personal growth.
The knowledge I acquire from Dave and the experience gained working with him on his workshops is something I actively incorporate into our Te Kaiārahi workshops, ensuring that everyone who participates in our programs benefits from it.

I enjoyed being there with everyone & spending time together as a Roopu. I also enjoyed doing the breathing sessions. At the time I was going through a lot, I'm grateful that I got to experience this kaupapa, & I would love to do it again.

Felt very happy and at peace and overall grateful for such a great day. I enjoyed the whole day. There wasn’t a single bad vibe the whole day. I really feel like everyone learnt something and everyone really enjoyed themselves and so that’s what I enjoyed.

Upon arrival I was feeling a sense of peace because I was away from the urban city life and everything it entails (population, phones, etc) everywhere I went it was just beautiful and peaceful. I loved the scenery and the sound of the waves. Also being atop the mountain and being able to share what’s been going on took a bunch of weight off my shoulders and allowed me to feel understood to some extent. And I felt really connected to the brothers who lead us through afterwards. Was amazing.
